Mount Horrocks Cabernet Sauvignon 2004
94 points
Offers sweet cassis berry fruit without undue tannin or extraction; sympathetic oak plays a role in the overall finely crafted wine.
Drink to 2024, $35.00

2002 Mount Horrocks Cabernet Merlot
Clare Valley
From a marvellous vintage in Clare, this blend has a minty nose and a pleasing cut of acidity, with firm tannins to make it a long keeper.

Mount Horrocks Cabernet Merlot Clare Valley
90/100
A
more elegant, cooler-year Clare cabernet with tomato-bush,
red berry and herb aromas, the palate somewhat dominated
by tannin at this stage. Still in its shell and needs
time. Potential-plus.

Mount
Horrocks 2002 Cabernet Merlot
One
of the advantages of the relative unpopularity of cabernet
is that slower sales mean more time spent in the cellar;
by the time we get round to buying and drinking the
wines, they have matured into better drinks. Case in
point here: beautiful regional flavours of licorice
and blackcurrant, and grippy tannins. 13.7 per cent
alc.

Mount
Horrocks Cabernet Merlot 2002
This
dry grown mix of 90 per cent cabernet and 10 per cent
merlot provides a compelling showcase of the best in
Clare Valley . There is great power and intensity, yet
in the way this has been handled it is refined and elegantly
smooth with a sumptuous, velvety smooth palate. 94/100
