‘Cordon
Cut’ refers to a unique, risky process which involves
cutting the canes when the grapes are ripe, allowing
the remaining fruit to concentrate and raisin naturally
on the vine. This results in intense flavour and richness.
Bright intense golden colour.
Concentrated aromas of spice, ripe lemon and wildflower notes with a touch of vanilla and honey. Riper citrus flavours (tangerine and cumquat) and even greater intensity reflect the season.
Delicious and rich, the sweetness is kept in check by a backbone of lively acidity: wonderfully clean, precise and complete.
2006 Cordon Cut Riesling
The
2006 Mount Horrocks Cordon Cut Riesling is very bright pale yellow-lime in colour. Vibrant,
lifted floral riesling fruit aromas jump out of the
glass -honeysuckle floral along with vanilla and spice.
In
the mouth the wine is at once lively and lusciously sweet
without being at all cloying. Displays incredibly delicate
yet intense fruit, all orange and mandarin, with honey,
spice and mineral highlights. The fine, zingy acid balances
the fruit intensity ensuring a delightful flavour and
mouthfeel sensation that lingers for an appealingly long
time. A deliciously fresh, vibrant wine for immediate
enjoyment or cellar up to a decade. |
