2010 Mount Horrocks Watervale Semillon
Youthful, bright and lime edged in the glass.
Appealing and generous aroma, with archetypal herb, lemon rind and spice notes, supported by hints of oak-derived vanilla and nut.
In a word: delicious. Harvested at the ideal moment where fruit flavour has developed fully, without being over-ripe, and with the variety’s crisp acid structure still intact. A mouthfilling wine that, whilst packing a punch of flavour, retains balance and poise through the deft use of French oak. It shows lemon curd, straw and herbal characters, a creamy yet bright mouthfeel and a flavoursome, long clean finish. Brilliant food wine, ready to go now yet will cellar well for five to eight years.
