Mount Horrocks Watervale Riesling 2019

700 CASES PRODUCED

The remote, isolated Mount Horrocks Watervale Riesling vineyard planted by Stephanie in 2001, sits in the north eastern corner of the Clare Valley’s Watervale subregion, on the very edge of the highly prized red soil over limestone.

Since ACO organic certification in 2012, Stephanie has produced beautifully flavoured and balanced wines from this hand-tended vineyard without the need to add acidity or finings; hence the vegan and vegetarian friendly status. This year’s release exhibits flavour intensity and minerality, however, due to very low rainfall in the preceding winter, production is very low.

Youthful lime green which will develop in time. Delicate spring blossom and lime leaf with a hint of vanillinspice. Crunchy green-apple and crisp, vibrant distinctive lemon-lime citrus flavours abound, at once juicy andtangy. Almost ethereally light and elegant; its minerality wafting along the palate to a long, pleasing close. Impressively delicious and worthy of at least a few years cellaring, if not more than a decade.
