Museum Release: 2017 Mount Horrocks Watervale Riesling
Bright, pristine, lime-edged. Remarkably fragrant with lemongrass and fresh cut lime. Mineral-fresh, citrus toned, crisp and juicy – this is an outstanding, classic Clare Valley Riesling: pure and long. Combines delicacy with structure, the acid backbone signaling long a future ahead: 10-15 years at least.
2020 Mount Horrocks Cordon Cut Riesling
Bright light gold.
Subdued aromatics belie a vibrant, honeyed, more intense version of Cordon Cut. Ripe, juicy citrus fruits, cumquat and mandarin, vanillin spice wrapped in a luscious richness rounded by astute refreshing acidity. Crisp, long on flavour, pleasing to finish. Age eight to ten years.
2018 Mount Horrocks Clare Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Classic cabernet colour – deep and dark. Also intense is the aroma: black currant, leaf and stylish oak. Concentrated black and red berry fruits are wrapped around vibrant tannins, and supported by really smart oak integration. A hedonistic wine with a generosity of fruit that belies great depth and length. Has a big future ahead yet drinks brilliantly now with a juicy beef steak. Keep to 15 years if you wish.
2018 Mount Horrocks Alexander Vineyard Shiraz
Vibrant cherry red.
Dark-fruited with fragrant almost floral oak aromas. Very alluring.
Youthful, lively red and black fruits, mandatory shiraz spice in the toasted mixed spice arena, plush tannins and a long, appealing finish. Modern Australian shiraz that drinks beautifully right now, with barbequed lamb, and will age well for 12 or more years.
2018 Mount Horrocks Nero d’Avola
Bright red with lifted, generous red berry fruits. Bursting with cherry and other red berries, lively spice and a crisp, tangy edge. So fresh and zippy, with typical ‘Italian’ minerality, gentle but firm tannins and long-lasting fruitiness on the palate. Dangerously more-ish. Enjoy now to five to eight years.
2019 Mount Horrocks Watervale Semillon
Bright pale gold, lime-edged. Impressively light, elegant and tangy with vibrant lemon, grass, and subtle spicy oak over a layer of restrained creamy texture. Stylish, balanced, long on flavour. An appealing seafood or poultry partner that drinks beautifully now though 2030 or more.
